This little restaurant was in Albrook, formerly Albrook AFB in the Canal Zone. And one of the featured ingredients is (thinly sliced) platano. It was pretty good. Connor appeared to be nonplussed:

When to visit: On the Pacific slope, the rainy season has begun and will last until sometime in December. That doesn't mean it rains every day, but we will often see showers in the afternoon. Panama's weather is notoriously difficult to forecast. From January to March it's dry and hot in most of the country. The peak of the rainy season is October and November, so you might want to avoid those months (unless you really want to see the sea turtles at Kirsten's former site). You won't need reservations in most places, except for possibly over Christmas - New Year's and during Carnaval or Semana Santa.
